NJ BARRINGTON — Barrington adopts parental responsibility ordinance on mayoral tiebreaker. The Borough Council split 2-2 on Ordinance 1219, requiring Mayor Hanson to cast the deciding vote for adoption. Two other ordinances amending fire prevention and zoning sign regulations passed unanimously.

The council approved 17 resolutions including 2026 contracts for animal control and shelter services, shared service agreements with four neighboring municipalities and county agencies, and a settlement with Fair Share Housing Center on affordable housing compliance. A bill list totaling $868,672.86 was approved.
