NJ BARRINGTON — The Borough Council caucus planned a data center ban and outlined cannabis cultivation ordinances. Mayor Hanson noted council members are "like-minded" on data centers and plans to recommend prohibition to the Planning Board. The council discussed cannabis regulations contingent on International Paper facility developments; Class I cultivation would join Classes 1 through 6 in the M-2 district, generating tax revenue plus 2 percent gross revenue, Hanson said.
Solicitor Tim Higgins clarified that Class V retail would remain restricted to the commercial district only.
